![]() ![]() There’s a lot of discussion about the best crop to grow in Spring. The other two skill paths don’t matter, but I usually go Fisher → Angler and Fighter → Brute. Miner → Prospector, because you are basically an Industrial Revolution-era Robber Baron, and even though the extra coal doesn’t help much, I like it over the other choice. Gatherer → Botanist, if only for the mushroom floors and for saving on inventory space. But you’ll have plenty of time and more money than you can spend after your first two seasons, so you can feel free to do whatever you want. But overall I think Kegs scale better for longer, and the high profit/day of Pale Ale helps in the meanwhile.įriendships and marriage and upgrading your house really don’t matter much in terms of your bottom line. In fact, there is an argument that you should go Preserves Jars over Kegs, because it has a higher profit/day for Ancient Fruit and that is more important than total profit. Preserves Jars can be easily mass produced because the materials are all purchasable, and they process much quicker and can therefore go through more crops. At this point it might make sense to make some Preserves Jars instead of Kegs. As the game goes on however, you’ll have more crops than Kegs, because you get Ancient Fruit at a faster rate than Oak Resin. It is kind of annoying to plot out because of the trellises, but I think they are absolutely worth it. Pale Ale has the best profit/day ratio in the game, and you can get a ton of it because Hops grows everyday. Luckily, there is Hops in the early/mid-game. Kegs are great for Ancient Fruit in the end-game, but it takes a while to get there. I guess Pigs are fine in the end-game, but they take so much time and upfront capital that they do not make sense unless you’re planning to play out the save file for many in-game years. The Greenhouse takes some effort, however, and you need to plan ahead for it.Īnimals are simply not profitable enough when you factor in the cost of buildings and hay and the time for them to mature. ![]() The Bus you can get through running the mushroom floor and selling the mushrooms. The Minecart you can get just by descending in the mines. The other Bundles are nice to have but really don’t move the needle much in terms of profit. The three Bundles to complete are for the Minecart, the Calico Desert Bus, and the Greenhouse. So I think you should specially tailor your Spring strategy around energy usage. By Summer, your skills are higher, you should have Quality Sprinklers, better tools, and plenty of food, and when you go to the Mines, you’re mining for resources rather than breaking rocks to descend, which is much less taxing on your energy. Early on, your skill levels are low, and you are trying to descend in the Mines, which is very energy-intensive. Running the mushroom floor completely trivializes the need for money in the early game, and it also has the side benefit of leveling up Foraging, an underrated skill, without the need to expend energy chopping down trees.Įnergy is an extremely valuable resource in the first Spring, but it drops off dramatically in importance afterwards. ![]() But more than that, it gives you access to the mushroom floor, which I think is absolutely game-breaking. It gives you the materials you need for Sprinklers and Kegs, of course, and it allows fast travel with the Minecart. Mining is by far the most important component of a min/max run. So we have to plan out the infrastructure early while also making the most of what we have while we wait. Ancient Fruit takes a while to cultivate, and Oak Resin is a major bottleneck for mass Keg production. The problem is getting there in the quickest and most efficient way. Now, we all know that the end-game for your farm is Kegs on Kegs churning out Ancient Fruit wine. Obviously, I love thinking about and talking about this game. I'd also be interested to hear what you guys think and where you might disagree. I'm assuming a fairly advanced knowledge of the game with this guide, but would be happy to clarify or give more detail about what to do in a specific day. I felt like getting this down in writing since I've been thinking about it so much these past couple of days.
